Any thoughts about this X5 35d???

I am looking for a used X5 Diesel. Although I would prefer a CPO one, I came across this one. I want to either test drive it tomorrow or on Monday.
It is a 2010 with around 45K miles. No more warranty and I am not sure I want to pay for a 3rd part warranty.
It has the seat package I am looking for with the multicontour front seats. The most important feature I want. The only thing I am not keen on are the chrome wheels. I just don't like chrome wheels. In my opinion they give the car a kind of "cheap" image. But this is just optics. And the tires look like they need to be replaced soon.
Plus I am not a big fan of running boards since they tend to make the pants dirty.
But the Carfax looks clean and dealer has a decent BBB rating.

Anything to watch for when test driving it?

Thanks everyone. Every response is appreciated.

Yes it has the Comfort Seats but after that it has hardly anything in regards to factory packages/options. Comfort Seats are not that uncommon. Unless you are dead set on this particular X5D, I would pass and keep looking. There are much better options out there as this one is mostly stripped of options.

Thanks for the response. Not sure what all the other options are but the multi-comfort seats is one of the reasons I am looking into the X5. And here in the DFW area only one in twenty seem to have these seats.
But I also have to admit that I find the options packages a little confusing. And the ones I have seen so far in our area seemed to have less options and were more expensive. But I really appreciate any help since since I am novice.. ;-)
And yes I am not in a hurry. So I have time to watch for other models.

Multi-contour seats are not exactly the most common option, but they aren't rare either. I say don't settle until you find the X5 that meets all your criteria.

Packages/option configurations depend on the year and model you're looking at. I would research all of this and make sure you know what's available, and then make sure you pick one that has the goods you want!

Are you looking at a specific year and/or model?

I am thinking about 2010 through 2012. After that they become too expensive. As for the options I really want the multi contour seats. Nice to have would be the premium package and the cold weather package. But I don't really want the sport package.
Anyhow. Thanks for the thoughts. ;-)

My only worry is that it's out of warranty mate. I'd be worried about something breaking since it already has 40K miles.

Sounds good. Premium and Cold Weather packages are quite common.

Keep in mind if you're searching 2010 - 2012's - the big difference here is 2011 & 2012's will be LCI (life cycle impulse…basically mid-life updates for this X5 model), meaning they'll have the updated bumpers, rear lights, etc. It's a much bigger difference if you were going with a gas model as the engines and transmissions changed in 2011, but I think the diesels just carried over the same engine and transmission?

That's correct - diesels have the standard 6-speed Steptronic and according to Consumer Reports, the 2011 diesels do better than any other years of the diesels. I have a 2011 X5 diesel that I bought used - 59K miles and clean repair history and carfax is clean too. And love it absolutely love it. Have the Comfort Seats - love it! I'm from snowy Pennsylvania and love it. Love the running boards so I can put stuff into a car carrier on top for skiing 😃. Good luck with your search!
