TPM Sensor
I am going to buy a set of wheels for winter. Does 2011 X6 model requires a TPM senor for each tire? I thought I saw somewhere that 2011 model does not need the sensor because it uses the rotation of the tire to calculate the pressure. Is this true?

I think the valve stems in the wheels have to be compatible with the original BMW valve stems that came with your car. If they are compatible, then you should be able to use any tire with the wheel that has the TPM sensors. Just don't mix up which wheel went where. If you took of the wheel with TPM sensor on rear right, it has to go on the new wheel that will be placed rear right. Otherwise the TPM sensors will not work (unless you go to a shop and have them reprogrammed).

The new models do come with TPMS Sensors from the factory in the US so you will need new sensors for the replacement wheels to avoid the error. Most wheels are compatible with TPMS sensors and would be installed when you mount the tires.
