I dunno man, I actually saw one in person yesterday parked at work. From the rear looked like a big sad version of the S.

Kinda reminded me of this dude.

i've seen in person too and it just looks odd. the rear looks even better. it does look good when the doors are open

I wish it had something in front like the S did.

But, at 35k, no gas, i may still want one later one. I've said it years ago, when the Model 3 comes out, it will be the demise of entry level sport sedans merc c, bmw 3, etc. Maybe they lower prices to compete. that would be awesome.

I don't get it.. The car isn't even finished yet like do you even know where it will tell you your current speed? It's just empty space at the moment lol... How can you blindly preorder something unfinished? Baffles my mind The last time I did that was with Rome 2: Total War and I'm still in pain over how that ended I'm never going near a preorder again

under 6 seconds is faster than most cars these days

under 6 seconds is faster than most cars these days
and plenty fast for most people. Certainly faster than most
non turbo cars or trucks.
I like the looks don't know that I would want an all glass
roof.
For me I would have no problem with a 200 mile range 93%
of the time. And if you can charge it at home overnight the superchargers
are no big deal . But until there are two or three in every town
of over 25k in population, its still kind of an issue for distance traveling.
Also I still don't know if you can put racks on it and how much
that effects range .

I've never seen anything like this since the first iphone. Paradigm shift. Good for Tesla. Hope the car succeeds.

I put down a deposit online; definitely not standing IN line or camping out. I'm a serial depositor. Don't know if I will ultimately get the Model 3. Hoping they will fix the face before 2018. I like the matte grey.

I put a deposit down

In two years no idea what my needs will be or whether my 328 will still be running as well as it is now (I'm betting it will be but who knows what will happen)

Given that I've taken one trip > 200 miles each way in the last year and electricity costs next to nothing where I live, it will fit my needs.

More than likely I'll stick with the E90, but at least I have the option to decide as the time gets closer, and I can always get the $1k back. I'm essentially losing $10 a year in interest by giving them a deposit in exchange for the option of buying.

Deposit on Model 3

I put a deposit down on one. My X3d LCI 2016 will expire in 2019. I will have to make a decision by then. I love my X3d--but this might be the future. An X drive i3 with 300 mile range might keep me in the fold, or perhaps the 3L D.

BTW: Those 650 Sales probably went Tesla S or X.

Just discovered the trunk access sucks

Just discovered the trunk access sucks
They have a tiny trunk its not a true hatchback
this cuts down on the utility a lot for things like
bikes and surfboards, and larger objects.
Hope they have a hatch version like the model S.

I love Tesla. They're exactly the electric car company we need. They're innovative and produce fantastic cars. I fully plan on getting a Model 3 in the future.

This is just the start of electric vehicle technology innovation. All it's going to do is get more and more efficient, unless laws are passed to prevent it. All I know is, state governments who collect loads of cash from the gas tax are currently getting worried with the electric adoption rate...

No kidding. With how fast these cars are developing we may not be far from very high adoption rates. I could definitely see owning a car with a 200 mile range.
There are more model S in my neighborhood than any other car in that price range.

150 miles is my threshold for wanting a electric car, 200 actual miles would be great.

I would definitely order that car if I had the money.
Autopilot standard, supercharging standard, low CG due to batteries and motor being low allowing for fantastic driving dynamics, instant torque and a 215 mile range all for 35k!

The best "common" electric cars can't even keep up. Most have a range of < 100 and can't match the design of Tesla.

My mom put down deposits for 2 of them. When I asked her why she said she might sell one or give it as a gift to me.

I'm quite happy with my E90 328i but who knows what will happen in 2 years?

If I knew I'd need one in 2 years I'd reserve one as well. As is I'm not sure we'll be ready for a new small sedan at that point.

Anyone else preorder a Tesla Model 3?

Preordered a Model 3 blind the other night before the unveiling. This i going to be my wifes car. She didn't want a Model S because of the size.

We currently have an i3 which we leased at a super low monthly, to give an electric car a try. The wife loves electric however, I think I will always be a petrol guy.
