I recently just installed an AFE dry air filter along with a couple of other mods on my 35i. I’ve been driving it around and I can hear the turbo spool but like any turbo lover I want it to be louder. I’m going to do a downpipe in the future so that will help with the flow of air and get the sound that I want…..but in the meantime is there any other mod I can do to hear the turbo louder??

I believe that set up was designed to run with the stock airbox on still….
There’s a actual AFE elbow and cone filter if you want to run minus the lid. My concern would be the filter jostling around and the engine ingesting dirt and what not flying around under the hood. Unless you somehow sealed the filter to the bottom of the air box.

I have a 35d, so I can't help you with an exact product. But Smonkbmw is correct, if you get rid of the stock air box and replace it with some type of open air filter (cone style), you'll get a lot more induction noise. The stock air box is designed to minimize sound.
