I just ordered a Rigid Hitch for the X5 for $194.00, Freight included, it says 75 minutes assembly time.
Installation Time: 75 Minutes
No Drilling Required.
Requires temporary removal of bumper during installation.
Fascia trimming required.
Hitch crosstube concealed behind bumper.
Sheesh.
Forgot my brand of hitch but I ordered it from the "Hitchman" in Waldorf MD. $300.00. Installed by my indie for $300.00. Looks great and a whole lot cheaper than what I have been seeing here. The dealer NEVER sees my X unless it was warranty work.

If you can turn a wrench,...you can do this yourself! I did my own install on my E53 X5 4.6is,...and get this,...when I traded it,...I removed it at the dealership and installed it on my '05 4.8is!

All it take is the right tools! Trust me,..it's quite easy,..almost plug 'n play!

The time it would have taken to drive it to a shop, wait around for them to do it, and drive back home would have been about the same. Plus I learned a lot about how body clips are installed!
What kind of tools did you need? also, did you use a torque wrench? What kind of wire harness is required to tow a boat? I have 2013 x5 3.5i. thanks.
