Commbox problem?
I have a 2014 X6m, it had the commbox retrofit so Connected drive, etc... will continue to work...
I have had intermittent problems, with it losing internet connectivity, sometimes the "find your car" works and sometimes not, remote locks, etc... Was wondering if anyone else who had the retrofit has experienced this? Thanks, Thomas

The only reason is that for 2014 X's (and other BMW models), are on Cellular 2G technology, so the cellular companies have abandoned us. BMW sent out letters last year giving people options, and I chose the retrofit, which upgraded my commbox from a 2G to a new (3 or 4G) style connection...
This allows connected drive, office, apps, weather and stock quotes, remote lock / unlock, BMW Assist (like Onstar) to continue to work... the cutoff was 12/31/2016, so any 2014 or earlier systems were orphaned and cutoff... Some cars may have had the newer system even in the 2014 model years, but my X6 had the older version... This is the second time I have had this problem with tech being orphaned... My 2001 had the BMW startac phone in it, and when the providers switched from analog to digital, it was useless...
