Massive Oil Consumption...

Zero oil leaking on ground. Oil odor coming in through the air vents, even with Recirculation ON. Black fuel soot spots all over the rear pipes and bumper. Extended warm starts and has a random stumbling at idle, like the engine is ingesting a gulp of oil. Grey smoke only on WoT.

2010 BMW X6M with 164,000 miles, Index 11 injectors. Fuel treatment done each 2000 miles. I'm blowing through a quart every 350 miles, of Mobil1 15w50 Full Synthetic. Reduced Power errors are intermittent. Car is driven 90% city and the rest is freeway. Valve cover gaskets done at 105k/mi. PCV breather hoses, including Filtered Air Ducts done at 142k/mi. Oil done, every 5000-7500 miles.

I have new Index 12 injectors, new valve cover gaskets and replacement Air Oil Separators ready to install. The smoking is not constant, so I'm ruling out valve seals. Thoughts?

Do a compression and leak down test and check cylinder walls with an endoscope.

Did you find out what the issue was? I’m having a similar issue. Was told it might be valve stem seals.

Smoking is gone, at hard acceleration. The fuel soot droplets is gone too and the tail pipes stay clean longer now.

Services Performed:
a) Valve Cover Gaskets
b) Air-Oil separator, inside valve covers
c) Upgraded to Index 12 injectors
d) All PCV hoses replaced
