Pre-LCI E70 X5 Plastic Trim Facia

Hi, I was wondering if anyone tried to repair their plastic trim with hot dryer? I heard that's very effective in the long run. But I heard car manufacturers use different plastics. So I wanted to see if anyone tried this method.

My X5 have become more grayish color.. So I'm looking for ways to repair that.

Also, I was wondering if anyone or anyone knows someone who painted their plastic trim facia? I saw members of other forum did this but I couldn't contact them. Just want to hear some advice as I'm novice in paint jobs.

Thanks!
