CIC or CCC decisions satellite radio

I have a 2010 x5. I thought I had a CIC but now unsure which it is. Either or mine is having a problem. Keeps rebooting. So my issue is I want to have satellite radio. So what should I do? Fix the CCC and have an external satellite radio or get the android or something similar fix?

You have CIC which should have sat tuner built into the head unit. It may need to be enabled with an FSC code. Check your vin to see if it has sirius or sirus prep. If prep, you will need a coder to enable the hardware.

As for the rebooting, the most common issue is a bad hard drive. It is just an older IDE 2.5" drive that you can re-image. Instructions are here (you don't need an SSD. A normal drive is fine). https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=841458

I added a new hard drive earlier this summer. The old one wouldn't let me add anything on it. New one works great. When it works. I will look into info on satellite. Thanks. Still curious about rebooting though. It did this before I upgraded hard drive so HDD wasn't the problem

My vin says my car was made 10/9/2009. No sure if that's October 9th or September 10th. Can you explain or link me to more of what FSC codes mean?

Stumbled upon Bimmertech video. $299 to have this function turned on seems steep.
