idrive update file for bmw x5 2011 lci

When I try and get the lastest update file from bmw website by entering my vin number it’s says not recognised or similar, is this because my car is to old now for a update. I would like the maps on it updated as they are very out of date compared to google maps , maybe I can down load a file and out in usb and install ?

BMW tried twice to upgrade my navi map’s to the latest version, no luck! I called a “Guy” and he fixt the update in no time. I have the CIC system, with usb.

He Connect a laptop with BMW software and a usb with navi software, done in one hour. ( be carfull that the doesn’t go a sleep when updating, the update will stop and resumés after wake up.

Is the update not available off bmw then for cic 2011 x5 ? Mine says a error has appeared on the bmw site

BMW is no longer supporting updates via their website from what I've seen. At least in North America. You will have to either torrent (or Mega) the updated map files and use a USB stick to upload them to the car, or go directly to BMW and see what they say.
