X5 E70 OEM Halogen > Xenon headlights

I had a look in the forum but could not see this answer;

2007 E70 with Halogen headlights, can i connect Xenon (PRE-LCI) headlights without ant extra components?
I know to upgrade to LCI needs some work, but what about pre-LCI?

Also, are all pre-LCI xenon headlights 'adaptive'?
I don't think my halogen ones are adaptive.

I don't know about the upgrade process, but at least in NA, if they are Xenon lights they are adaptive.

You might need to swap wiring around and you'll have to code the FRM. Do the Halogens auto-level? If not you will need to add a bunch of parts to get that function to work properly.

No, not all xenon are adaptive.
It is also not plug and play. You need to add wiring for the xenon high beam shutter.
If you install them with no wiring, I think everything will work except the high beams.

Correct 🙂

Guess I need to feed the car hi-beam and low-beam to the single xenon pin in the headlight. I could do this using two relays so that the two circuits are not physically joined together. Then also connect the hi-beam line to the shutter pin.

Problem is I cannot seem to operate the shutter from the connector, one side of the shutter solenoid is pin 5 on the connector, but the other side appears to connect to the level control wiring inside. I could disconnect the two wires to the shutter solenoid and power it on some new wires. Has anyone got this to work?
I can't be the only one who has ever changed up their halogen lamps to Xenon.

My lamp part number is F00HTB3004 (the new bi-xenon)

Ant.
