Acceptable cost for a turbo repair?

Hello, I got two turbos from my BMW X5 E70 30sd that need their core replaced (fins destroyed) and I found someone who would repair, balance and clean my two turbos for 550 USD. Is this an acceptable price? Is it too much or is it a fair price?

can buy on ebay and do it yourself, cost maybe 400 each..

400 each? The mechanic is asking for 550 for both and he is een going to balance it which I cant do.
