Performance boost for x5?
Does anyone know of a couple modifications that deals with performance for the x5? I have the 2011 x5 sport. (not diesel) I know nothing about tunning and racing vehicles, but i know there are chips you can replace, exhaust ect.
Anyone know of anything I could add to boost the performance and add more horsepower? I'm hoping someone hear could atleast point me in the right direction, because i don't even know where to start. lol. |

At this time there's only one option which is the jb3 stage 1 over at burgertuning. I've been running it and the power gain is substantial especially for the price and ease of install.

I have a custom ECU tune along with a Remus exhaust installed and have noticed a considerable difference since the tune. While I did not have a dyno to test it out. The tuning company has dyno tuned cars x5/x6 3.5's on the West coast and they have found gains of 74hp and 82tq. I will eventually dyno mine and provide an accurate reading. I will say that since the tune my truck is like night/day difference! No hesitation or lag, and it truly moves out now!! Much more fun to drive now!!

I personally have the JB3 Stg 1 in my X5 (was the first, but def. not the last). Running 4.25 psi over stock with no CELs. Is anyone interested in getting a hi-flo down pipe or Catless Downpipe, I'm trying to generate interest with AR design to come up with a pipe for us. But I'm only 1 guy, anybody else who's interested in getting one fab'd up would be great... And while this may not be a performance mod, H&R has a sport spring set for the X5 which would lower us by about 1 - 1.2" all around...

Count me in for the dp!!
For a free exhaust mod you can zip tie the exhaust valve on the passenger side so that it's always open. As for the intake it's not a bottle neck yet. Im running the jb3 and what's nice about this is that you have different settings. I've tracked my car for results on the 1/8th mile and on race gas and 6 got me 8.8 sec vs 9.5 stock. That's close to a full sec off of the 1/4 mile. When the downpipe finally comes out it should net us another .1 of a second.

I have DINAN ECU upgrade and Exhaust on my 2011 50i sport package....it is a BEAST. Runs great, never had an issue, DINAN stands by their word and is the clear leader in aftermarket BMW performance products. My HP gains are ~100HP and the exhaust sounds amazing. Tips on the pipes are black ceramic which really complements by black/black with black rim setup...

ESS Tuning also offers a reprogram option which does not require you to pull the ECU or replace it. They ship you a programmer and it's less expensive than Dinan. However, they don't extend the same Warranty as Dinan.
