2009 vs 2011 diesel

r their any differences between the sound that comes in the cabin? i know that they didn't change the engine but is their any sort of difference. is the 2011 quieter?

Can't speak for the '11 but I never found the sound levels (or the types of sounds) produced by my '09 "d" to have been unreasonable in any way.

I just traded my 09 x5. 3.0 for an 11 3.5d last month. I really like both of them. There are a few cosmetic changes such as the fully painted front and rear bumpers which is a big plus for me. The I drive control has a few buttons that were added making it easier to use. You also have the LED corona trim rings up front and the LCI rear tail lights. I think that is really the only major things. Coming from a regular gas x5, I really love the power difference.
