best update for engine on 2011 x5 50i

I have a 2011 x5 50i.

What is the best bang for the bug in regards to an engine/chip mod/update?

There are a several out there with a wide variety of price. I'm looking for maybe a bit more torque and throttle response; another 40HP at 7000RPM by itself isn't too interesting to me.

Any insights or experience?

thanks!

Super Sprint

cheep and easy install on a level of 1~10 I'd give it a 2. Bang for the buck a 10. I'm very pleased with the performance

Welcome to the forum.

If you search the forum you'll see plenty of threads on performance software for the N63 engine (there are no 'chips' for these cars).

Dinan claims +94 HP & +129 ft. lbs./torque with their software - it's about $950 (down from $3000 about a year ago). These motors make peak torque at 1800 RPM's or so.

Dinan numbers are true. I have 2011 x5 50i with dinan stage 4 software and dinan air to water intercooler upgrade. Very impressive performance!! I just did a dyno yesterday and here is the results: 425 horsepower to the wheels and 475lbs torque to wheels. Which means when crank its 510 horsepower and 570lbs torque. I suggest you to get dinan software but dont do stage 4 if you wont do air to water intercooler because it might damage your engine due to overheat. How can i upload a pic ?
