Inner Tail Lights Removal

Can someone give me some pointers as to how to remove the inner tail lights? I bought the LCI tails to replace the pre-LCI ones. From just looking at he inner panel of the trunk lid, , I only see two screws where the inner trunk lid handels are. Really appreciate any help. Thank you!

i'm sure because i'm stupid, but this mod took me a good 3.5 hours, mainly dealing with the lift gate inside liner. I love the darker lens on the LCI tails! They are essentially smoked tail lights compared to pre-LCIs.
The original inner tails were held by a very sticky black caulk with only foam on the top side. The LCI tails is pure foam.

Everything works, however the dash has an error (exclamation mark) and upon engine startup, the NAV says right tail malfunction. I'll schedule an appointment with the dealer when I get a chance for coding.

Did you buy your LCI taillights locally? Do the turn indicator signals have amber-coloured bulb or red-coloured bulb?

I bought mine from getbmwparts. I believe the turn signal bulbs themselves are amber, bu the bulbs can be changed easily if desired.

Excellent! Are you able to confirm it? I've been advised from getbmwparts that they are only selling US-spec LCI taillights with red turn signal bulbs.

well...how did you install them? did you get them coded? did the error go away?

I heard...from the dealer that these retrofit lights wont work with "certain" vin numbers...

I find that very odd...I ordered them anyway and will get them in a couple weeks and a buddy's going to code them.

Anyone know how to get the new idrive set up on a 08?

How did you go with this?
I'll be attempting to do this shortly on my 09/2007 3.0d X5.
Im fairly confident they will work with my VIN going from the fact they're listed under the Retrofittings category for my VIN:

Keen to understand what was recoded and if thats only for LED bulb applications?
