Anyone thinking/installed the newer steering wheel?

Saw this on Instagram, was wondering if its possible on a non-M E70 or anyone on here has done it. Had a 2015 X5 M-Sport as a loaner, love the wheel and saw that someone did this. Any insight?

Creeped on his page some more, seems like he also retrofitted the newer Navi, iDrive Controller and Shifter

Steering

I bought a steering wheel off eBay so no down time. I'm having it sent out to Dallas custom steering to be recovered and thickened.

The interior of that x5 looks awful

ha yeah, my first thought, too, was "holy cow that's the ugliest interior I've ever seen"

As for the steering wheel, yeah, I'd want that. I love my stock sport wheel and all, but when I drive a new loaner 3 series M sport, that wheel is just amazeballs.

Looks better than the stock one but not better than a flat bottom m performance alcantara wheel. That's what I would spend my money on.

taste of the colors apart, I do wonder how all the electronics fit in, seem like B&O audio system was also added. I would guess the NBT large screen is quite weird at that angle as it isn't aimed at the eyes anymore, but if that doesn't turn out to be a major issue, the NBT mod would be even more appealing.

also want that shift knob, always thought our stock shift knob looks ugly and cheap

You need a retrofit module to do the F series steering wheel with some coding.
