He got points on his license for the blocking incident but it was for blocking Hamilton, not Max. Max caught up because of it.

I thought this season will be somewhat a battle between Merc vs Ferrari, HAM vs VET, 3 time world champ vs 4 time world champ. But ended up to be one of the seasons that vettel leading from season opening and wrap up with several races to go; and HAM in the first two seasons in Merc domination.
Exactly.

I gotta imagine Ham will have a DNF sometime in there. If not, he's pretty much a lock for the championship. It seems that Vettel's crash that ended in a DNF a couple races back is really coming back to bite him in the butt.

I'd say the opposite is true. At the time, it seemed like it could have been the single flaw in Vettel's season, but that's no longer the case.

It wasn't then either, unless you don't count his Baku histrionics.

Really? You don't think that Vettel's DNF in Singapore is a reason why he's trailing Ham as much as he would if he finished? (thus biting him in the butt)

Granted ... I am speculating that Vettel would've gotten a podium spot.

I'm saying that the last 2 races, where Ferrari technical problems arose, made the 1st lap crash less of a singular event, when combined with the fact that the tides are turning back to Mercedes, in terms of having the performance edge.

I see where you're going there. I can get behind that reasoning.
