"Paint matched" rear reflectors on pre-LCI E70

It took about an hour to get "paint matched" rear reflectors with Plasti Dip.

I actually removed my comment because it's your choice... I prefer them for safety.
I replaced the front reflectors a long time ago.

I tape and paper masked the car. You don't "need" to mask like this but the plasti dip "dust" (overspray) gets on everything and I don't like cleaning it up.

I did 5-6 quick coats, 3-5 minutes in between to let them dry. Took maybe half a spray can.

If you want to match the texture, move the can/sprayer back a bit and you'll end up with more texture to match the bumper material.

Looks great! I did the same exact thing to mine... Except after all the masking, once dried, tried cleaning up the dip and it ended up coming right off of the reflector too. Had to redo by removing the reflectors, dipping them, then reinstalling. They come of very easy though!
...and in the end, great results!

to cut the problem in two (look VS safety) you could use "smoked plasti dip".

it does exist to dark the taillights for example.

i've bought this one to make my E91 taillights, which i never did (forgot a bit and time went by). i will try to make them with that "smoked" plasti dip on my E70 ...

Having played around with a lot of plastidip, (i really like that stuff!) the "smoke" dip seems to result in a greyish fog type color. There's many videos on youtube for reference. Gets the job done, but not exactly the results that most expect. Just a heads up!
