Exhaust Cam Reference
2010 X5M continues to go into low power mode and set check engine light . Replace bank 2 exhaust cam sensor , pulled both cam solenoids (which were clean). Where to look now? timing?timing chain? exhaust cam gear ?

Other possibility is busted timing chain guides if VANOS tests are good, pull your lower pan (you should do that anyway to check your oil pump chain, I made a video of it and posted up here) and if the chain guides are bad, you will find plastic debris in bottom of pan. Last possiblity is bad timing adjuster, they cost 500 each and are a pain to replace (about 15 hours of labor) but they rarley go bad so save that for last |
