Reflashed my 2012 X5D with Mega-Speed Germany software yesterday at their only NA dealer JR Auto Electronics in Oakville ON. Had the JBD at 100% for almost a year prior to that flash as well as K&N filter. So far so very good. Small review will come shortly after a week or two of driving.

Cost?

What did it give you above stock, 55bhp & 130nm torque?

Around those numbers I guess. Haven't dynoed it. Comparing to JBD at 100% it feels smoother, faster but slightly less torque. BMS claims around 60HP and 100TQ at max settings. It actually pulls all the way to 5000 now. Cost was under promotion is $699 CAD/US.

Interesting? so you reakon I should chip my M50d, 381hp to 436hp and increase the torque from 740nm to 860nm, and bring it down from 5.4sec to around 4.7sec, ffffkkkk, I can hardly keep it on the road now, lol.

Mega-Speed can tune virtually any model US or EU. When I had their N52 and N54 flashes they weren't listed on their website either. Mega-Speed is very popular in some EU countries. I'm in Canada btw so US car.

The US 35d reflash is amazing. I started to actually love how my truck drives, it reminds me of N54 335i now. I hated it before even with JBD at max setting. There was so much lag in low rpm and power would come on hard like from 0 to a 100 in a moment, not controllable. There is virtually no turbo lag now from the dig in both D and DS. Power is very smooth and strong all the way to 5000! And I think (not sure yet) there is a slight increase in MPG both city and hwy. The tach behaves more like gas now, just flies up there. V-max is removed to 280 kmh as well.

Regarding DPF and DEF removal, not sure if they'll would tackle BMW exhaust system. Would be hard to sell the truck after if need be.

It's up to you. I was looking more to reduce lag in the low rpm, not to increase power. JBD had plenty of it as well as the stock like lag.

I don't have a lag problem with having the 3 turbo's, the first turbo comes in just above idle.

Your lag problem, being only minor on the later 35d's with variable fan technology will be hard to over come by its actual design. The 3 turbo system is pretty good but the US will not get it until the new 2014 X5 comes out.

You are lucky with that motor. Mine is 2012 X5D and stock TQ curve starts above 1750rpm. Now with Mega-Speed it's at least 500rpm lower which is very close to where the gas engine kicks in.

Yes, my motor is different and has taken a bit to get use too. At 100kph it doing 1450revs and at 113kph around 1900revs, down as far as I can tell around 250-300revs from my 35d with the 6 speed gearbox.

Also l am getting around 140klm more out of a tank of diesel at this point in time, my X5 has only done 1200klm and not yet run-in either.

Sounds excellent. When my lease will be due, I'll choose between the tri turbo diesel or the X5M in 2015.

Yes I noticed you are in Montreal. I'm from Toronto. Not that far
I know MS is popular in EU but you are probably first known customer in NA.That is why I'm interesting in your experience with Mega Speed and JR tune 3.5D.

I think the fuel consumption increased because now you enjoy your power more often

You are right I hate that low rpm lag and you don't really know when power comes up. Uncontrolled.

On JR website they offer DPF/DEF removal and I have to see them about how BMW exhaust looks like.

I noticed you've got same flag

By flag you mean country? ( I'm on iPhone now can't view those details) but yes RU

Yes I'm the first In NA to have the MS diesel remap. I heard they were happy about this too. Having past experiences with MS and GIAC this diesel flash is as good as they come. I spoke to MS lead programmer and according to him they modify many different parameters in this remap. Unlike some piggys that trick rail and boost sensors. You'll love it! The guys at JR are very professional at what they do as well. Get it while it still at $699!

After remap was done JR datalog'd the car during several runs to make sure all is well. They will soon accommodate a dyno for rear wheel drive cars.

The chances are by 2015 the tri turbo diesel will produce over 435hp and 860nm of torque, no need to buy a V8 any more.

If we'll get it in NA would be awesome. Trouble is - our gas is cheaper then diesel. Otherwise we'd already had vast variety of diesel models.

They have to because US M57 motor is different compared to EU model.

That was exactly what I worried about.

OK, so what happens at the end of the lease; will you have to pay a fine or something?
