Guide to Wheel Scuff Repair...

Here is a link to a good DIY'er...

http://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext43.shtml

You just need to find the gun-metal version of the paint. Your wheels are gun-metal right?

BTW... I've stopped going to car washes for that very reason

That's a great resource. I have scratched my wheels as well and have used the above method to fix them. Once you do this it is a huge relief b/c you can fix your wheels yourself. The fix might not be perfect but it will totally do the job and remove that awful feeling in the pit of your stomach when you see your magnificent OEM BMW wheel scratched or gouged. If you want then you can follow-up with a mobile wheel refinish shop to get a perfect fix.

Instead of spraying the paint directly on the wheel you can spray into an old plastic bowl. Then you could use a paintbrush, q-tip, etc to apply the paint. This way might not give the best results but you don't have to worry as much about over spray. I am not that good with the rattle can so I prefer the brush.

Good Luck. It stinks but it is not the end of the world. I predict that you will be satisfied with the method supplied above. As an aside- is there any chance the car wash will cover the repair?

Oh yea - once you have all the supplies and do this yourself one time it will make the feeling on next scratch not so bad! All scratches stink but at least you know you can fix it up!

thank you, yea its the Feris Color -- so shadow gray color... they tied to say it wasn't them and I made them pull up the video... front drivers side huge gash.. you can clearly see car hits that then the wheel turns to the right and the guy said yea, see he turned... I said, no the car wheel turned itself bc it hit the F ing wall

what it a $300 fix for them and their trying to fight me on this.. I was at the car wash 20 minutes prior -- these guys!
admit blame, say sorry & we all move on with our lives!

thanks guys

BTW I have the Velos Tune -- does anyone know how much power it gives to the stock x5M -- this thing is just as quick as my E60 m5 I had -- love it
