Wow!

Sport Auto ran a 7:10.92 at Nurburgring with the new AMG-GT R.

A couple other recent times for reference.

That was a FIA spec AMG GT3 race car. Crazy how the AMG GTR seem to almost keep pace.

That time is absurd, honestly never expected that much gain over the standard car. That is 25 seconds faster than what sport auto did with the GTS.

I got to be honest, I'd take one of those AMG GTS or R in a heart beat. I was at an MB VIP soire last summer and got up close and personal with a GTS.....damn I had wood. I think I might take it over a 911, or most 911's. Fauulk me. Damn, the bark when they start that beast up....I need a tissue.

People really discount AMG for their handling ability not realizing they have a long history in racing. Not even a surprise the GT-R went this fast.

All cars on the list are on Cup 2 tires from factory. I thought the 488 came with Pzero's, but according to Sport Auto the 488 they had was wearing Cup 2 tires as well. Must be an option when ordering.

I wish Sport Auto would test the new ACR at the Nurburgring. It would be a well deserved send off for the snake considering that it's predecessor was a record holder.

Just over 2 seconds slower, but that NISMO was heavily modified for Ring and its not what you get when you purchase one.

"The original press release did state that the car used featured 'track options', which included 'aerodynamics tuning, weight reduction, and suspension tuning'. It could be fitted with cage as well I read. The car tested in sport auto was 1555kg full fuel. Not bad weight!

Not sure I they drove a car with cage?

If not it will ad a few Kg.
