What floor jack for X5M?

Wanted to check what floor jack you guys are using. I only intend on using it to swap out summer / winter wheels, so I figured a 3 ton Arcan would suffice. Any thoughts?

Yes that is a good jack, it gets high enough to lift our SAV to remove wheels.

Safety first, always use jack stands...

The Arcan XL 35R is a great jack. I've used one for many years on my X5 and X6.

Thanks! I was going to go with either the Arcan XL 35R or the other Arcan one - the blue 3 ton aluminum (ALJ3T) from Northern Tool.

I thought would do the same but, decided to leave it to the shop as the jack points, torque applied to nuts and other details may risk some damage. I'd always pop the hood up to avoid messing with the air suspension, it'll tell the computer the car is service mode.

To just swap out winter wheels, I'd do it myself. Just have to reset the TPMS. Never heard of having to pop the hood, though.

easy swap. Just re-torque the lugs to spec. 101 ft/bs. I've got a jackpad adapter from Reverse Logic, no damage whatsoever.

Me also! Anyone else ever heard or used popping the hood trick?

+1

Burger also makes a jackpad adapter. I think I paid about $15 a year or two ago.

I bought a used factory jack from BMW Auto Recyclers in CA for $65 shipped, including the handle. Works like a charm and takes up no space.

Never heard of a jack pad adapter before. You learn something new every day.
