I can't see the crack and I should prob check mine as mine looks as full of snow and road salt as yours does. I wondered when I put mine on in summer if these Vorsteiner pieces would be able to withstand frigid Chicago temps but when I left Vorsteiner a voice mail no one bothered to call me back. Go figure.

I 3M'd my lip against rocks and the harsh NY winter elements. But that wouldn't have helped versus your sidewalk. Please keep us informed if you are able to find a fix. Good luck to you.

I've had a carbon fiber bicycle frame repaired, it can be done. The repair to my frame left it hardly noticeable. The guy that did it pulled individual fibers from the roll of dry fiber, built it up then added the resin. Very clean, and strong.
good luck.

So I can took the lip off then bring that to a bike store for carbon fiber repair, I just want it back to normal with minimized the damage.
I think I have to give that to the professional to get the job done.

Appreciated your comment.

yep. It will require a high end bike shop, or you can look up carbon bicycle repair online. I have every faith that you will be pleasantly surprised.

You will get majority answers of "hell no" but I have two sets of wheels. Summer 22's and stock 20's with Bridgestone Dueller's. They do ok for the most part. This has been the worst Chicago winter I can remember and they have been sufficient. Only in part due to the (2) 70lbs bags of sand I have in the back. I began the winter with out them and quickly put them in. Made a world of difference for me.
