Seems like a good business decision by the government....

The Ethanol industry make more money and pay taxes to the government
The car industry sell more cars and pay more taxes to the government
The mechanics and service industry make more money and pay more taxes to the government
The petroleum industry sell more premium fuel (sans ethanol) and make more money and pay more taxes to the government
Consumer buys cars more often, spends more money on mechanics, and with each transaction pays sales taxes to the government.


The only loser here would be the consumer.
