Garage List
2012 BMW X6M  [0.00]
I have noticed that the sensor on my 50i seems erratic. Several times it reported an error, so I took the car in and the dealer couldn't replicate the problem. And just this week it reported low oil levels and told me to add a quart. I did, and now I worry the engine is overfull. I have only 9100 miles and my first official oil change isn't for another 4100 miles. This will definitely be on my list of things to inspect when goes in. Hope this helps!

Couple of days after the 1st service the oil level came up as too high. 5 months down the line BMW still can’t fix it, even after running every test they have including ones from Germany, recoding the car and replacing the oil sensor. Due in again for another oil sensor and more tests apparently, hopefully 7th time lucky!!

Did high oil level come on automatically thru the iDrive Check Engine message or did u happen to use the manual level check menu w/ engine running??

Just happened to check it with the engine running. No warning lights or errors messages come on when I start the car.

Same here, reads overfilled only when checking by setting idrive myself.
5 visits & 2 different dealer garages w/ different Puma cases later, it seems to not read overfilled w/ orange colored bar for now.
