I ordered my X6 on November 22, 2010

How long does it take to get a production date. ANTSY

Ordered October 16th received Ship to dealer date of April 15th last week only 7 months !!!!!&£&£@£&

Congratulations on your new X6. What color exterior/interior and options?

10/28 - Ordered my X6 35i on 10/28
11/5 - Dealer received my Performance Center Delivery date
11/10 - I received my production number (email from the Performance Center)
11/12 - production started
11/22-23 - build was complete
Today - anxiously waiting to drive my Titanium Silver/Chateau X6
12/15 - Performance Center Delivery and drive back to DC

Are you doing the Performance Center Delivery or will it be shipped to your dealer? I'm guessing that I could have picked mine up by 12/3 if I didn't opt for PCD.

Six weeks sounds about right.

Pay no attention to ryansumm. His X6 is going to be special.

We need details. What options did you pick? Which dealer did you go through?

Not to derail, but does anyone know production time of x6m as well? Ordered almost 3 weeks ago, and production has not started yet. Have to have the VIN by the end of the year for tax purposes, or will have to cancel order for this year.
Also is there another website that give more info on order than bmwusa does? It really is not very helpful.

The BMWUSA site is not that useful when it comes to tracking production. In my experience it goes from not started to delivered in no time at all. Your dealer should be able to provide more detail.

Prob not too late. Call your dealer...they set it up. There is no extra cost. I wanted to donit with mine, but the dates didn't work out.

Yes, you can request the performance delivery as early as when you order the car. That's when I requested it. At least a couple people on bmw forums requested PDC when their X6/X5 was being built. BMW was able to reroute those to the PDC instead of transporting to the dealer. Of course, earlier is better because the PDC slots do fill up.

How patient are you? Based on posts there and in other threads, you may have to wait until mid-January for a PDC slot unless there is a cancellation. The X3 launch reportedly took quite a few slots.

However, check out the thread below. They were offering a few PDC slots the week after Christmas for people who didn't mind not doing the factory tour (the factory will be closed that week). Your Sales Advisor may not know about that option (assuming those are not filled).

So I have a production end date of 12.20.10. When do you think it will arrive to the dealer from Spartanburg, SC??

Ordered mine: Saturday, November 13th
Arrived at Dealer (Edison, NJ): Thursday, December 2nd

20 days from build to delivery...not too shabby!

Production end date was Monday, November 29th.

It may have been actually rolled off the line as early as the Wednesday before, because that weekend was Thanksgiving and all BMW NA operations were closed from Wed evening until Monday morning.

Got the "it's here" call early in the morning of Thursday, December 2nd, so it could have actually come off the truck at the dealer the day prior.

So, I just randomly called the 800 number and they said that the end date is now DECEMBER 15, yes tomorrow!!!! OMG, I almost died at work. They stated it's in the body shop.

Do you guys think it will be in my possession by the weekend?
