A little update;
Put the whites back on while I work on getting the Velos wheels refinished. Other than that just been doing maintenance and working on chasing down a front end issue. Also have my piano black project still in the pipeline. That and my replacement injectors that the dealer put in less than two years ago are starting to go again. Win some loose some... |

The M5 is awesome! It does seem more needy than most though. Already spent a good amount on maintenance stuff. Just the other week its alternator/voltage regulator died so had to take care of that. Of course while in there I had some under drive pulleys fitted, which also meant replacing other pulleys, idlers, and tensioners. It is an extremely satisfying drive though. Words can not describe red line full throttle action on this thing. Screaming banshee ftw!
Other than that just working on parts accumulation in between keeping up with maintenance. Better to have a stock machine running tip top then a modded beast stuck in the garage. |

Howzit guys,
A little update here. I will be letting the blue beast go soon within the next 6 months. Found out we are having a fourth kid due at the beginning of December so the plan is to get a F15 with a third row. Will be a 3 year lease as after 3 years the oldest will be in college and I will be able to get a X5M again as a 3rd row won't be needed. Going to wait until the 2017's come out to place an order. So if anyone is interested in any of the parts I have feel free to pm to reserve. Everything will be parted out except the headlights, front lip, and rear diffuser. Those are permanent. Everything else is fair game. For the wheels I have not yet checked to see if they fit a F15. if they do I will be keeping one of the sets, which ever one does not sell first as I like both. Do keep in mind shipping from Hawaii is $$$, but rest assured the prices will be good for the parts. Have no idea yet on price either. Of course if someone rather buy the car as is we can discuss that as well. Plan currently is to strip and trade in, but would rather sell whole to an enthusiast. She is at 54k miles and will most likely be at 60k miles at time of sale. |

Too bad you going to part it out, its a such a beautiful and inspirational car! I def understand it won't be cheap and you probably have limited number of buyers for this kind of car in Hawaii! I'll be in touch and congrats again!!! |

Thanks for the kind words. It always sucks having to part out a car once you finish it. It's for the best possible reason though so that's awesome. |

Congrats on becoming a dad for the 4th time! Hopefully somebody will purchase your X as it sits now - I mean most of the folks on here are going for the same look anyway (CF lip, diffuser, exhaust, LED headlights, etc.) so why not just get yours!
You mentioned sometime back you weren't a fan of the newer F models - change of heart? I guess it would likely be hard finding a properly equipped E70 with 3rd row in the islands? I spent forever finding one on the mainland! And they're getting older too... Anyhow, looking forward to seeing how you spec your F15 and the subsequent mods |

Hey kimo, wanted to let u know that the F15 suspension components are pretty much identical to the e70 just lighter material.
So the powerflex bushings and KW v3s are all transferable Btw happy fathers day, congrats on the new baby. I dont know how u manage to have enough time to work on ur cars with 3 kids soon to be 4. Its hard enough with one for me LOL |

This thread provided such a large degree of inspiration.
I don't even know how to respond to the news... I suppose all good things must come to an end? Gixxer - totally wasn't ready for this |

Thanks! I'm glad this thread could inspire others. These beasts are rare compared to other M's and it is important that we mod them correctly. It does suck though building a M only to strip her down again and sell her but it is what it is. Let me know if you want any of the parts. Don't be shy now. |

Thoroughly enjoyed this thread, Kimo! I know this project is dated but just found the journal last week and thinking about upgrades for my '13 X5M. Thanks for the guide!
Best, Drew |

Thanks for the compliments! Long thread is long so that's awesome you took the time to look at it. I just finished having her stripped. The only part still on the beast that I am selling are the white Morr wheels. They come off once I get tires for the oem's. I have a for sale thread up in the classifieds. Take a look and maybe you will see something you like! |

So I had my alignment done from shop that specialises in only alignment/geometry stuff only. We dialled in the best ride height for good tyre wear and decent ride height. Here's how it looks. So as you can see the right side front camber is way off vs the left side. They suggest I need 40' more on that upper arm. Which upper arm would I need? They said it only needed it one side, is that OK to do? |

The real question however is which component is bent? A lower arm, frame, bad bushing, etc. the upper camber arms are more of band aid solution. It still wouldn't solve whatever the real problem is. So it would fix your alignment, but hide the real issue if that makes sense. |

I said this to the aligner and didn't find anything. All the lower arms have been changed only thing left is the upper arms. There is no previous accident history on the vehicle. All the suspension components have more or less been changed. Thanks for your help though |
