2010 X6M just passed 100,000 miles. Any other high mileage ///M models out there?

I still love this ride and am glad that I purchased the extended warranty from BMW. While I don't have the complete list of what was repaired, it was minimally $12-13,000 and included items such as all new injectors, turbo cooling pump, complete software of all 17 modules updated and a bunch of other things that I can't recall. It was worth it and I highly recommend getting the warranty, particularly for ///M models.

I will likely keep this vehicle until the 2015 new model comes up and get it again. I have never done that before, but this vehicle is that good. You can see from the pics that it still looks great and I push it over 100 MPH (safely) most every day.

With that preamble... for those who are high mileage drivers, do you care to share your experience with all models of the X6 related to repairs, how long you plan to keep it and has your driving experience matched expectations? Include pics.

Thanks
Jim

The full BMW extended warranty (including the electronics option) was $5,200.

They sell it with fear (You know that a new transmission will run you $20,000) but with an ///M, any repair is $1,000++

Good luck.

$5200 that's not bad. Did you get the warranty before expired? They quote me $9300 plus tax for 3 year 36000 mile =(

Dude, congrats man. That is inspiring! Your car looks awesome!
Fully agreed on the BMW extended warranty, I will be buying it.

My 2013 has just over 21k miles now after just about 14 months.
That's relatively high mileage, I think, for the duration.

Only issues have been clicking noise in front suspension, fixed by replacing control arm. Now the internet is having an issue and the MPG meter has been broken for a little while, just need to take her in for those two software related things.

Mechanically she's been flawless except the aforementioned clicking in the suspension. I hope to keep her for a long time and for 200,000+ miles, then put her in a glass box to remind my future self about my first ///M.

It is my understanding that you must buy the extended warranty before the original warranty expires, so I don't really understand why anyone would buy one at the time of purchase. Perhaps it is part of a financing requirement, or is it possible that the warranty price goes up as you approach the end of the initial warranty? Sounds like buying airplane tickets.

Over $9,000 for the warranty you were quoted? That seems absurd... Perhaps you should get on the phone and call other BMW dealerships and don't bother with your local one.

Side note.... Yesterday I was driving back from Grand Rapids, MI to my home near Detroit pinning it at 79 mph. There was a Lincoln in front of me and I kept my polite distance, waiting for him to pull to the right when it was safe. When he didn't get out of my way after the right lane opened up for him to move over two times, I signaled and attempted to pass him on the right and he sped up, effectively pinching me off from getting in front of him because a car was in the right lane. This happened three times. The first time, I thought he perhaps didn't see me. The second time, I thought he was just a douche, the third time I nailed it and blew his dumb ass out of the water, hit 130 mph, listened to his engine rev and labor as I pulled back into the left lane and watched him call me really bad names in my rear view mirror. I just smiled and waved.

I didn't even bother hitting the (M) button on my steering wheel, though the noise probably would have startled him a bit.

Just another polite day in the best car I have ever driven.
