X5M Dyno - Eurocharge Tune & Catless Downpipes

Since information is hard to come across on the X5 forum, I figured I would share my recent dyno session at a buddies shop (http://www.performance-solutions.net/)

Details:
Dyno Type: Dynojet, STD correction factor, Smoothing 5, ~70* in dyno room, runs done in 4th gear
Vehicle: 2012 X5M
Mods: Eurocharged Tune (93oct), Agency Power catless downpipes, Gintani Exhaust
Best Runs: 500whp / 577wtq
Best 1/4 Mile to date: 12.2 @ 112

Additional Info: I had 2 additional runs (5 & 6) that I didn't get the files for, but the truck made the most power on these runs. Run 5 = 577wtq & Run 6 = 500whp. Oddly enough I tried dynoing with M-mode on and off and power only dropped ~10whp without it. For reference from Velos website, a stock X5M will dyno around 467whp/445wtq http://velosdesignwerks.com/wp-conte...ware-chart.jpg

A tune really wakes these things up down low. It appears the new version of the X5's are able to flow better up top to create more HP, probably a mix of valve lift/duration and better flowing turbos/head. Either way, not bad for an SAV/SUV

No, I never dyno'd stock. The first post has a link to a stock dyno on a Dynojet that should be fairly similar.

Great numbers to the wheels, even more impressive at the crank!

How does it translate to behind the wheel? What would you estimate your 0-60 times are? 1/4M?

The torque and throttle response is the most noticeable difference after adding the tune and downpipes. The sound is the second thing you notice after doing downpipes, which sounds great WOT!

Not sure on 0-60 times, but I'm guessing it's in the 3.7-3.8 second range based on 60', 330', and 1/8 mile times.

Here's a link to my 1/4 mile thread: http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...&postcount=105

I'm going in on the 14th for a pre-tune dyno run, gonna flash the tune and let it adjust for a week and then return the following weekend for a post tune dyno run. Tuner is MorePower (morepower.de), so hopefully I'm getting my full 80hp that most tuners claim. I'll post my before and after numbers on my own thread.

Sounds nice and good numbers on yours...great color choice as well ;-)

Good luck at the dyno! Letting the DME adjust is a good idea as I can feel the car pick up power/responsiveness a week or two after flashing.

Do you happen to know your boost levels before and after? It feels faster this past week but as best as I can tell, I'm still only doing the stock 17.4psi on a stage 2 tune.

I have the OBD Fusion app, but I don't think it's logging the correct PID out of the box. The max I see is 3 psi which is off, the only thing I can think of is that it's not accounting for atmosphere (~14.7 psi) but I lost interest in trying to figure it out. I find it odd that you can't hook up an analog gauge to a vacuum/boost source on these things.

Sorry for reviving an old post...but are these AFRs okay? It's super lean for a boosted motor up intill 4800 rpm.
