M50d - exhaust tip dimensions

Here's a question for the group: I really, really like the look of the M50d exhaust tips. Gloss black ties in real nice with shadow trim.

Has anyone, by chance, attempted to put a set of these tips on a non-M50d X5? I think I want to run a set of these on my 50i M Sport, but the tips are slightly different in shape. (I have no problem with them not following the body lines, so don't worry about that.)

thanks for the help.

I don't think the 50i tips are removable...are they?

no they aren't. I'm doing a custom Magnaflow exhaust and taking out the back-half of the 50i exhaust. Thus need different tips, which has brought me to this question, cause I think the OEM+ tips would be bad ass if I could pull it off.

(Found a company selling just the tips [it's a game] online)

Gotcha. Can't wait to see/hear the finished product.

I wanted to do these as well. With the exhaust tips being one of the last pieces of "shine" on my X5, the black gloss looks much better with the Shadowline trim. Or, after seeing the DIY that Blackhawks posted this am...I may opt to do it myself.

I have my tips from the stock muffler that I removed. they are not gloss black but could easily be coated. make me an offer and maybe I will sell them.

i don't think think they are removable either. but i would just cut them off and you could have a exhaust guy reweld them back on.
