BMW Tire & Wheel Protection -- What's your take?
Since I bought my 2009 x6, it looks like BMW offers a new program called "BMW Tire & Wheel Protection" that seems to cover both the rims and wheels for the duration of the warranty. So any flat or damage to the wheel rim they replace.
Cost of the rims/wheels for a new x6M for five years is $1950. Seems high. Does any one have any experience with the policy? |

Yes I added the policy when I purchased my 335. 16 months ago we had terrible flooding which resulted in a lot of debris on most of the roads. At some point, one on my tires were damaged and had to be replaced. I took it to the dealer, and they examined and replaced it with no questions asked. Also, according to SA, if you do not use the policy and get a different BMW, you can transfer the policy and pay any difference. If you have to use it on your vehicle though, it does not transfer.
I added it to my X6M as well. It was such a smooth process that I would much rather have the peace of mind knowing I wont be shelling out several hundred dollars to replace one if something happens. Hope this helps. |
