Considering getting an X6
Hi Andy from West Midlands UK
I registered on here when i had my 330i Convertible, I recently just sold my Range Rover sport and am considering an X6 Model choice is a 3.0d white with château leather, with media, dynamic, 20" 259, and tinted glass. Whats the general opinion on these, any problems, is it worth upgrading to the 21" BMW performance alloys or 21" ferric grey 215's I have also been offered a good deal on a new Q7 but I have had one of these previously and know its a good car but thinking try something different Thanks |

I'm a Proud Owner of the Xdrive30D. It's fast, great gas mileage, turn heads and it's the most reliable X6 engine out of all. Only a few draw backs, visibility, beefy suspension, road noise and constant brake dust. Still better than most vehicles out there.

The X6 is the best handling sedan currently made by BMW, IMO. And it fills the bill of different.
You'll want to get Adaptive Drive. http://www.bmw.com/com/en/insights/t...ive_drive.html The 215 is probably the best looking OEM wheel option for the X6. The problem I have with them is the choice of tires available at 21" is very limited. I think the Performance Wheels are a love it or hate it thing. Now the Performance Aero kit... that's a winner. |

Hi Andy, I am up in Scotland and have recently taken delivery of a X40d and I am loving it. The dynamic pack gives you sports seats, high gloss shadow line and dark headlining, also means you can upgrade to the 20" 214 style alloys for only £950. this and the media pack are really the extras you need to add and the dynamic pack is free at the moment if you buy it on a select deal
Would also get a reversing cam, it's a must for such a big car IMHO |

Also forgot to say that the adaptive drive is what bm used to call edc, it means you can have normal or sports suspension settings. I don't have this fitted so don't know how good it is.

Congrats! Great color choices! Very nice.
Interesting that you picked the performance wheels and spoiler parts, but not the bumpers and side skirts. You'll have to post some pictures when you get it. |

Consider no further... traded a 2011 Porsche Cayenne S in on a 2001 X6 50 and never looked back. Pros - Faster, better looking exterior, BETTER HANDLING (take that Pcar!). Cons - Premium sound system not as good as 2011 Cayenne S, seats in Cayenne were better, interior looks a little better in the Porsche. Overall the quietness and ride (straight line) were better in the Porsche. I am convinced that better non run flat tires would put the Bimmer even with the Porsche's interior sound level and straight line (80mph) ride quality. Overall happier with the X6!
