buy a x6M or Cayenne GTS

love the X6M but the rear seats are only for 2 people. X6M may be faster, but also more expensive than GTS since there is no special financing rates. any suggestions which one to get?

The GTS costs almost $30k more IIRC, financing rates should not make up that much difference.

There is always the X5///M- Which I prefer over the two you mentioned. What is the maintenance like on the Porsche and insurance differences. I only ask because when I got my ///M3 the coupe was more to insure and a Porsche was way more to insure (even in Cayman form).

I have a Cayenne GTS and love it but wanted more power.
The Cayenne GTS is more of a competitor of the 4.8i liter X5s.
My debate was between the Cayenne Turbo S and the X-Ms.
The Bimmers won out because they're a lot less money, the current Cayennes are nearing the end of their model life, and they depreciate too rapidly (you can buy a used 2009 Turbo S with low miles under $100k). And if you're looking for more room the X5M seems like a better fit than the X6M.
2008 Cayenne GTSs with practically no miles can be had for $65kish.

Hands down the X6M or X5M. Both are significantly faster than GTS and actually faster than the Cayenne Turbo. The GTS is more of a competitor to the X6 50i and I looked at it when deciding on the my X6 50i and drove both and the BMW won hands down.

I also didn't like the fact that the current Cayenne body style was nearing the end of its life and has been around for too long. The X6 is fresh and new and you rarely see any of them on the streets.

Ok and how does that make up for the price difference of the Porsche ? You can always get an outside bank to finance. Even if the rate is extremely high you are still not going to spend that much to make the X6 ///M cost more than the Porsche- it is not possible.

If you are leasing- then Porsche must be heavily subsidizing and the ///M is new so there is no need. If you talking lease numbers then call them that- financing sounds like a bank note.

I think in terms of pricing and performance, you might want to do the X6 50i vs the GTS comparison.
In of performance, you will get a lot more from the X6 50i than you would from the GTS.
If the performance of the X6 50i is not enough, you can get Cayenne Turbo level performance from the X6 50i if you take the performance package option.

If you need room in the back seat for 3 adults, then maybe the X5M is a better solution.

We were in the same boat. We just dumped our X5 for the X6M. I transport a decent amount of people from time to time but the X6M was really want we wanted. You either love it or hate it and we fell in love with the look and design instantly.

The lines, the performance/handling and the uniqueness of the vehicle are really what appealed to us so when we weighed the two (people hauling ability or buying the vehicle based on pure want and fun factor), the later of the two outweighed the loss of that third spot to transport 5 people. At least it did for us.

If your buying a car based on financing rate and how many people it will hold you shouldn't be buying an X6.

meh, the rate wont be attractive for sure, coz it is a 2010 model, but tht would not hold me back as long as i like it. right now, i like it A LOT ! just to see whether it is worth the money, i probably will have to sell one of the following cars in my signature.

Boombastic, I have the C63 too and prefer it so much more than the M3. M3 is a faster track car, but as a DD the C63 with all that torque kills it. Besides, my 135i track car is faster than the M3 anyway.

As for GTS vs X6M, no competition despite me being a long time Porsche owner. Make it this way, I have ordered the X5M eventhough Porsche offered me a great deal on a Cayenne Turbo.

I'd get the X5M, and invest the extra money you will save!

The c63 is a wonderful car, I just wish the traction control was a 2 step system. Maybe the 2010 model year will fix that concern for me, so i could consider buying one. Love the car otherwise.

X5 M is a decent choice, but X6 M is more sporty, but less rooms. I am going to a test drive later today.

They drive the same (exactly by design) but the X5 has more of an exhaust note on the inside of the cabin, plus the panoramic roof adds an nice open feel.

Either way they are both great beasts- the X5 is a better deal as it is cheaper and comes with a bigger roof and grab handles for the passengers...

The X6 is more trendy.

Buy a used Cayenne Turbo or Turbo S if you're interested in Porsche.

the x6 is a niche car - if your needs don't fit the niche it's not the car for you, but only you can really say if it ticks all your boxes.
