Bluetooth question
Sorry but I havent seen a BMW bluetooth system working, so I wonder how it really works ?
Question: Do you have to dock your phone everytime you want to use the bluetooth feature ? For example, in my wife's Q7, you just program your phone with the car system, so when you turn on the car, the bluetooth of the car pairs against the one on the cel phone, there is no need to dock the phone anywhere, just leave it in your pocket, holster or purse......... Also when a call rings, it mute's the radio and displays on the main screen who's calling ? Any YouTube video will help, thanks in advance Last edited by motex; 08-03-2009 at 05:34 PM.. |

No docking required. This is the point of Bluetooth. Docking is the old school way. BMW BT will also automatically sync all of you phone numbers and allow you to make voice calls based on phone book. i.e. "Call John". You cannot do this with most systems out there. Even a Lexus won't do that.

Chuck is correct, I have my iphone in a case on my left side. I just get in car and shortly thereafter the little sync icon shows up in Nav.
