Battery Options for Replacement
Hi All,
I have a 2010 X5M and it seems to be time to replace the original battery - I am leaning towards the Interstate MT5-49/H8 - which seems to be compatible (from Interstate's website) - just wanted to check if anybody recommends that (or any other) battery as a direct replacement. I will get the battery registered/coded to the car once replaced - Please let me know if anybody has positive/negative experiences with specific replacement batteries. Got dealer quotes for OEM battery replacement and was quoted $500+ for it - so thought I should do it myself and save a little $$$..... Also, does anyone know if the original battery is an AGM or a standard Lead Acid - it is a Banner Battery with two part #s - 61217575327 and 61216924022 - 90AH, 160 RC, 900CCA Any assistance is appreciated. |

All AGM batteries from BMW are black. The standard lead acids batteries are white.
Make sure you get the correct battery with the 90Ah rating. Slightly higher, like 92Ah is okay. Your car needs to be coded to that spec. The CCA is relevant but not the proper specification to select a BMW battery.
