Can you replace a NON heated steering wheel for a heated one

Can you replace a NON heated steering wheel for a heated one?
I have seen a deal on an X5 but its missing the heated steering wheel.
My current, old faithful, 2004 530i has it and every time winter comes
I love the thing. So can you just replace the wheel and get a heated one or
is there a special wiring harness that needs to be added to get heat to work.
I have seen Youtube replace em but not sure you can upgrade from non heated
to heated.
Thanks

Yes you can.
But you need the heated wheel,
The clock spring from a car that had a heated wheel and the actual button for it.
Then some coding is required I believe.
