Took the X5 to the drag strip tonight.
It was the last test & tune of the year. I was hoping we would have nice weather but alas, nope. Crap Florida muggy air with a few break downs on track so that makes us wait and the IATs get high...
I did get 4 runs tonight. My son grabbed some video. I did run two 12.9s this evening. I think with better air, 12:80s are within reach. All I have done on this truck is the BMS stage 1. I did a quick brake boost and then off I went. 60 foots were in the 1.8s. I did tree the crap out of all the cars I raced tonight. The charger I raced in the one video was a grudge race so it was a "no-time" race. I worked his ass. He was surprised! Here are two videos. Sorry for the cell quality. They loaded to FB in HD but not youtube... Against a Genesis 2.0 Turbo with mods. Against a Charger with a cam, headers, and tune. |

Thanks for posting this - love the vids!
A Hyundai Genesis? Even funnier is the Charger with all his mods and you still dusted his ass Not that I should even mention this, but I lined up with this guy in his Civic SI today. I'm stock, but 50i. He was lowered/stanced, tinted, silly exhaust….I usually pay no attention to these sort of clowns but I couldn't help myself this time. Easy pickings… |

I was practicing preloading the turbo Sunday after and it appears that I need to get the RPMs to about 2500-3K and I can have about 4-5 psi. That is where I need to launch at. I think I was leaving with maybe 1-2psi... I was watching the IATs on the P3 gauge and should have been using the boost readout. Next time. |
