Drive Display options
I'm curious how everyone has their display set up. I generally leave my preset radio stations on the left and then navigation on the right but rarely is the nav in use. I'm curious what everyone else has on the right side of the split screen that may be more useful. Since I generally listen to XM/Sirius I wouldn't mind having the artist name and song name on the right side but haven't seen a way to do this.
Thanks! |

I live in a city where traffic is always a concern regardless of day and time, so I always have my maps and traffic displayed on my larger screen.
on my M3 ccc idrive: left maps with traffic, right onboard info (mpgs etc) on my X5 cic idrive: left maps with traffic, right arrow directions (for road trips), onboarding info (for city driving)

BPM.. used to be my fav to listen back when Satellite radio subscription was active (came with car). Did not find it worth it to pay them. Pandora is free! |

How do you run Pandora through the car? Do you just plug in your phone and play it through there or is the app truly integrated in to Idrive's display?

I have BMW apps on my 2012, but I don't use an iphone, so I can't do Bluetooth streaming even with the app. Stupid iphone centric world. BMW Apps can be retrofitted btw in the aftermarket... http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/bmw_apps/

Unless you have unlimited data plan, streaming music using your data plan may not make sense. I use bluetooth to stream music, but its for music I have stored on the phone.
Bluetooth compatibility depends on the model of the phone and vehicle, which you can check: http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...hframedin.aspx |

I have an unlimited plan with ATT and I stream both Pandora and SiriusXM through bluetooth from my phone.

I have my old iPhone 4 left in my vehicle permanently since I switched to a Android for my cell. It has no SIM card so I use the iPhone with a modem/hotspot in my vehicle. Works great with Tunein radio. The only thing I don't like is always having to open up the console to start the the bmw app on the phone first. Anyone ever find a way around this?
