Thicker oil rarely helps with oil consumption, switch back to 5w-30 and use some at-205. If your seals aren’t to far gone this will cut consumption. I’ve had goof luck with it as a temporary fix. https://www.amazon.com/ATP-AT-205-Re...2827956&sr=8-2
If your cylinders are scored which often happens with high oil consumption, you’ll need to have the block bored and pistons replaced. |

Ofcourse 5W-50 will be thicker than 0W-40. But 5W-40 i was using before was as thick (feel by hand) as 5W-50. Plus this new 50 oil should have more additives that my old one. |

Shame i can't get that at-205 anywhere here, and from Amazon is like 40 $ shipping to here. I'll look for some alternatives, that i can get. And probably will switch back to 5W-40 BMW spec oil in next oil change. |
