Exclamation How to Convert Front & Rear Bumper (2008 X5 to 2011 X5)

I just purchased a 2008 BMW X5 in white
and I wanted to convert the front and rear bumpers to the same
ones as the 2011 X5.

Can I just purchase the bumpers or are there any other parts
I need to purchase as well to make this fit?

Best bet is to start to look at the parts diagrams first. You will also want to look at a 2011 model and compare fenders (If the part numbers are the same, then nevermind)

It's possible there are slight changes in fender lines and other ancillary pieces, so it's usually not as simple as a bumper skin swap.

Do a search on this forum. Members, including myself have posted details on rear bumper, not sure about front.

Rear bumper: Obviously you'll need a new rear bumper cover, and a few extra parts to attach to the bumper. The rear fenders will need to come off, but wiring should be the same as what you have now.

Front bumper: remember you'll not only need a new front bumper, but also two new front fenders.

Front, you need fenders and bumper cover. Rear you need bumper cover and carrier is different I think. Then you need all the little items like the grills, etc.

Good luck

Thanks guys,

I did some forum searching and many have said for the front you need to switch out the fenders and front bumper. Just wanted to see if I could come across someone in the forums who has actually done the front and rear together.

Does anyone have any places they could reccomend where I could purchase the items.

I've seen some ppl on ebay selling them. If anyone knows anyone selling these items please let me know. Im ready to purhcase them now so get wifey's X5 looking nice
