6-disc DVD changer & Rear seat entertainment

Please tell me if I am missing something...I have both the 6-disc DVD changer (in the glovebox) and the Rear Seat Entertainment. My kids have no problem changing the DVD's in the back themselves, but it would be so much cooler if I could have 6 DVD's in the front changer and let them select which disc to watch or select which disc myself from the front. Why on earth do they offer a 6-disc changer DVD player that only plays in the front seat??? It obviously will not stay on up front once you are in motion. Why would one need 6 DVD's to watch for a few minutes here and there while you are parked???

I have looked in the manual, and can't find anywhere that it tells if you can get the rear seat entertainment to play the DVD's in the 6-disc changer. It seems like they are two completely different systems. I just can't see myself ever using the 6-disc DVD changer...maybe for CD's, yes...but why is it a DVD changer???

Agreed...that does sound strange...
I do use the 6 DVD changer from time to time so I can play 5.1 DTS DVDs (concerts) as music...no picture while driving, but great sound!

I use the 6 DVD changer in the front for my music, I burn MP3 dvds.

trinacliff, did you ever figure out if the glove box mounted DVD changer is accessible from the rear seat entertainment system???

Or is it possible to select it from the front monitor (while parked) and then show up on both screens but once you are in motion, it will only be visible on the rear screen?

I believe this is the exact same system fitted in X5s, so maybe some X5 folks with the DVD changer and rear seat entertainment system can chime in and enlighten us?

As much as I played with it and as much as I read, I did not ever get the 6 disc changer to play on the rear seat entertainment system. If anyone knows if there is any way to do this, I would be very interested in hearing.
