Why is 09 Delayed?

I have called 3 dealers and BMWNA and can't even get an estimate on when 09 allocations will begin. One dealer even contacted his area rep and was told he is unable to get an answer. I don't think it is due to an X6 problem because there is no info on the X5 either.

I believe everything is selling. So a delay may mean a ramp up in production which due to the economy BMW may be reluctant to do.

The X6 was suppose to be a niche vehicle that only idiots would buy. There is no use or market for it.

I ordered mine start of June, It came into the dealership this afternoon

I pick her up Monday, can't wait.

Seemed a long wait though.

maybe because we are still in 2008 and 2009 is still months away ?

I feel your pain and appreciate the length that you went through to find info. I have only called a couple dealers myself. I have been waiting since 7/21 for allocation and still no word. I am beginning to get frustrated but reading these posts keeps the excitement level going.

Question: What do people seem to be getting off the MSRP for their orders? I was offered a flat $1000 off my order. When informed that the price for the car was going up 3k without any changes whatsoever and called up my dealer and asked him what gives. He promised me that he would talk to his boss and see what he could do for me... Anyone else want to share their deals?

I got about 5% discount.

I too have received about 5% off MSRP with my Internet specialist dealer. We are waiting for the allotment releases. I plan on ordering for the March 2009 production run, while waiting to get the new iDrive system. My 50i vehicle will cost about $76K with the Nappa leather and dash option I have also been waiting for. I am not getting premium sound or HUD at this point.
