E70 gearshift lever gone completely floppy!

Hi everyone

On one of our E70s the gear shift lever has gone completely floppy and loose. Ie if you shift to drive and the weight of the shift lever will send it back into neutral.

Any ideas??

Any codes? When mine decided I should no longer go into sport mode it did set codes. Unfortunately, I had to replace it.

No codes! I'm thinking I'll need to find a part assembly for the area. I imagine there is a spring or shift plate that has broken or dislodged causing the freedom of movement?

I have my old broken one (from a 2012 3.5i) that does not go into sport mode, but does everything else correctly if you need it.
