X5 50i or X6 35i
Hi,
I am currently deciding between a X5 50i or a similarly priced X6 35i and I was wondering what your opinions are. So ideally the x6 50i would be the best option but seeing that it is out of my price range, what would you guys choose. Have a car that is has the horsepower but not as good lookwise in my opinion or a car that I like the looks of but not as fast. The only thing that is keeping me from going with x6 35i is that I currently have and 328i coupe and I have regretted many times about its speed. thanks. |

I just answered the exact same question you have. I chose the X5 50i. My decision was simple in the end. I wanted the HP. For me, the fun of a vehicle is driving it. Yes, the X6 is beautiful; but, I bought it to drive.
You can get a stripped down X6 50i for about cost of a nicely optioned X5 50i; but, what is the fun in that. It seems that you already disappointed yoursef once why do it again. |

I purchased a 2011 x5 35d (not a 50i, but for the purposes of my trading it in it would be the same), and I regretted my decision because I hated how it handled. I did have sport and adaptive drive; it was just kinda too big (I was used to an x5 e53).
I traded it in after only a year for a 2012 x6 35i and I don't regret the decision one bit. The x6 handles SO much better than either of my x5s. I too wanted a 50i engine (in both the x5 and the x6), but my driving habits are so that I would probably get only 10mpg with that engine. Laziness won out over more power for me. I'm an aggressive driver (hence my low mpg in even a 35d), and I'm doing just fine with the 35i. |

If the space is not issues, I would get X6 35i.

If you guys don't mind me asking, for those of you that are leasing your vehicles, what kind of payments are you guys making and anyone know what the current residuals are for these two vehicles at the moment?

if you ever need to haul people in the back forget the X6, if not the X^ wins out for handling and looks. I just made the choice and had to go with the X5 for kids.

I bought the X5 50i. I looked at and really liked the looks of the X6; but, it just did not fit my needs as a people hauler.
In your heart, you want the 50i. You either need to get a stripped down X6 or a nicely optioned X5. Since you are inside the vehicle driving most of the time, I would recomend the X5 50i. |
