Engine whistle

My engine makes whistling noise just before the gear shifts around 2000 RPM.
This issue was there since day 1. It has been around 2 years already.

I brought it in to the dealers 4 times, and they couldn't find the problem.
Today they made a conclusion that this is normal, because they have 3 other cars reported with the same problem.

Should I give up and just live with it?
Or should I do something with BMW North America?..

For your information, here is the sound clip:

Most noticeable at 0:30.

PS. I have N55 engine.

I guess I will talk to BMW NA.
Unless the noise is in 99% of the N55 X6, they should not conclude it is normal.

Sure it's not the turbo? I can hear the turbo on my 6 usually in the mornings when I gun it out my neighborhood when in in a hurry. It's normal for the turbo to whistle.

Thats what it sounds like but i never tried to listen for it while in park. I usually hear it under hard acceleration before the transmission shifts into 2nd. Ill try to see if i can hear it while in park tomorrow.

Mine does it when I step on the gas, like if its shifting and then it takes off... Lol link doesn't work for me. But haven't had any problems... The only problem now is that every time is on D, and I step on the gas a bit, the vehicle shakes... Like an old car. Drives me nuts!

You should hear a faint whistle with the windows down only. The insulation of these x's inside you shouldn't hear any whistle. Just had a vacuum hose connected to the intake replaced because of a small pinhole leak. Have it checked. No more whistle. Voila!

Our problem must be different.

I can hear the whistle while the windows are closed, since they come directly from within the engine.
