Looks great! Did you paint the calipers yourself?

The painted calipers were a weekend DIY project. Used G2 paint caliper kit. Works great and is extremely durable. Previously painted my M5 calipers and they held up great . Thanks for all the positive feedback. I think my last mod will be ESS tuning upgrade.

Did you 3M the lip to the bumper?

Did you find that when you screwed the bumper down it was pulling the lip down?

I found the Vorsteiner lip spoiler install quite problematic. The holes at the bottom did not align with the existing screws. Once screwed down into place, despite attemptng to use the 3M tape, there was a large gap at the top edge which at highway speeds created a lot of vibration and wind noise. I talked to a friend who owns a high end body shop and he recommended a bead of 3M windshield urethane which ultimately solved the problem. I like the look of the Vorsteiner but for $1900, I would have expected a better fit as well as better install instructions.

Looks AWESOME. I've been wanting to see that lip on a Black X5M and it makes me want it even more.

Can you measure how much ground clearance it has?

Measured the clearance to be just over 9inches to the bottom of the Vorsteiner front lip spoiler with stock springs.

Thanks for the info...

I agree the spoiler is 1/2 out of alignment. When I 3M'd the bumper and screwed the holes in, the bumper pulled down and there is a gap.

Poor engineering. They also did not ship my 3M tape, nor instructions but were kind enough to send me some and guide me with install.

Did you have pre-drilled holes for the 8 extra screws? I did not!

I will do the windshield urethane, excellent info!

So the the Vorsteiner lip is not a DIY'er? Needs professional finishing?

If either of you guys have a digital copy of the instructions (or a pic) could I trouble you to PM me with it? I'm trying to decide if its worth the trouble installing it myself only to have it unstable when driving around. Thanks in advance.

The Vorsteiner can be a DIY project if you have the right tools and patience. While I found the quality of the spoiler to be excellent, it came with no instructions or 3M tape, just a small bag of screws. There are tabs at the bottom which are supposed to accommodate existing screws at the bottom of the stock bumper but not alll of them lined up. Once bolted into place from the bottom, a gap was created at the top edge which was too wide for the thin 3M tape to bridge. I wanted to be able to remove the spoiler in the future so I resisted more screws. A uniform bead of black 3M windshield urethane worked nicely and could be removed at a later date if needed. My friend at a body shop said they use it all the time for carbon fiber pieces on Porsches.
Hope this helps.

Did you screw in the additional screws it came with??

Rims

Are those powder coated stock rims or after market. I have a 2011 X5 and I want a set of black rims but am having a hard time choosing.

As for the vorsteiner spoiler, I did use 4-5 of the provided screws to screw in the bottom especially where the tabs did not align with the existing screws.
As for the rims, they are BMW OEM style 215 rims. They come as either gloss black or ferric grey. The OEMs are quite pricey but replica rims are available at a much more reasonable cost. Just look for them on ebay.
