X6-M performance numbers! 4.3 0-60 / 12.8 quarter mile
PRICE AS TESTED: $89,725 (base price: $89,725)
ENGINE TYPE: twin-turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 32-valve V-8, aluminum block and heads, direct fuel injection Displacement: 268 cu in, 4395cc Power (SAE net): 555 bhp @ 6000 rpm Torque (SAE net): 500 lb-ft @ 1500 rpm TRANSMISSION: 6-speed automatic with manumatic shifting DIMENSIONS: Wheelbase: 115.5 in Length: 191.0 in Width: 78.5 in Height: 69.4 in Curb weight: 5254 lb C/D TEST RESULTS: Zero to 60 mph: 4.3 sec Zero to 100 mph: 10.7 sec Zero to 130 mph: 19.1 sec Zero to 150 mph: 27.9 sec Standing ¼-mile: 12.8 sec @ 110 mph Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.92 g Braking, 70–0 mph: 163 ft QUOTE The X6 M also comes with a launch-control function that will handle the shifts as long as you keep the gas pedal planted to the floor. Hold your foot down for just 4.3 seconds and you’ll see 60 miles per hour fly by—and that was achieved without launch control enabled. With launch control, we think a tick or two could easily be shaved off. QUOTE For reference, the Cayenne Turbo S hits 60 in 4.4 seconds and 100 mph in 10.8. (Does that $35K price difference look even more substantial now?) BForbes' take: These numbers are pretty telling for such a large vehicle. The M5 will obliterate ALL with its similar numbers and 1,000 less pounds. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/hot_li..._take_road_test

Crazy huh? No stock 5200lb SUV should hang with a stock C6 Corvette to about 85mph. BMW disagrees.

As sick as this sounds, I like that this car dosent sit well with some folk. I'm sure they will chime in soon. I love what it stands for. It means BMW could step out of their box.

Then again only BMW is crazy enough (and has the engineering talent) to make a 5200 pound sav/suv/4x4 thingy handle the way the X6 does, makes me smile everyday. |

Is it not perverted that most of the x6m will be sold in the US resulting in 95% of the time doing 55-80 mph on the highway - shame for the engine....

if you were in germany, the story is different. doing something like 170-180mph on the autobahn justifies the investment... My point is - so many people here excited about the numbers, so many will buy the car because of these numbers but hardly anyone here will benefit from these numbers...

Acceleration numbers are "real world" relevant. true, people might not be running it up to v-max, but 0-60 and beyond is a regular pull in the real world for many people, as is rolling acceleration for safe overtaking. |

I have to agree with randombloke on this , most 0-60 action happens on the street.
couple times a week I get challenged at stop light from range rover, lexus, etc. |

Figures are very impressive indeed but I don't want to burst your bubble but every report so far has not been at all favourable and in fact EVO (UK rags) only gave it a two and a half star rating.
Maybe this amount of money may well be better placed else where. |

I agree on the price, wonder what a similar Dinan tune will go for. Somewhere on this forum someone had theirs in to get done but haven't seen any numbers on price. |
