Heat/AC Issue

I noticed today that my E70 when I turn both sides of the climate control to 84 degrees they both get hot then about 20 minutes into the drive the drivers side starts cooling back down and eventually starts blowing cool air no matter how many times I adjust the drivers side knob....could this be a water valve that's on the drivers side next to the wheel well going bad?
